CalPlant 1 Rice Board Manufacturing Facility

Phoenix Industrial served as the general contractor for the new CalPlant1 located in Willows, CA. This project is the first commercial-scale producer of rice straw-based medium density fiberboard (MDF) in the world. CalPlant 1 will supply approximately 140 million square feet of non-added formaldehyde MDF annually to the building products industry. This manufacturing facility is a great example of Phoenix’s self-performing divisions due to the scale of the project and the aggressive schedule timeline. Project partners include CalPlant1 LLC, Industrial Projects Consulting, Siempelkamp and Evergreen Engineering.
